Learning Styles and the Dominant Side of My Brain

I have searched for tests that test to see what type of learning style you have, and what side of your brain is dominant.  I know that one free online test wouldn't be enough of an indicator of a proper result, so I recently did several tests and I have averaged them out in my mind and discovered that:

I most likely have the left side of my brain which is more dominant (the left side is more logical compared to the right side which is more creative) and my learning styles are pretty much balanced (ie. visual, auditory, social, verbal, psychical, logical and solitary).

The best free test on the internet gave me the following diagram on a neat little chart to show me how well spread my learning styles are. Click here for the link.

My Scores for the following image are (out of a range of 0-20)

         Visual - 17, Aural - 14, Verbal - 11, Physical - 13, Logical - 17, Social - 14, Solitary 10.

From just looking at the shape of the diagram results, it shows a pretty good spread of learning styles.  This is not the only site that showed something like this.

From this site's test, it told me that i have a multimodal learning preference (and no, I didn't answer the questions differently on purpose on ANY of these tests to get such a result - I was honest with my answers).  Out of a maximum score of 7 for each style, I scored 4 for visual, 1 for aural, 3 for read/write and 5 for kinesthetic.  They said I have a VRK (Visual/Read/Kinesthetic) learning style.

Just in case you don't know what all these styles mean, I will give a very very brief explanation of each style mentioned on this page.

Visual - like to learn and remember things by looking or picturing it in your head.

Read/Write - you like to read to learn, or you like to write things down to learn.

Tactile/Kinesthetic - you like to learn by doing it the hands-on approach (ie picking something up and playing around with it).

Aural - you like to remember something by hearing it, or you like to work out how something sounds (ie trying to spell the word frequent =fre-quent) in your head.

Verbal - you like to talk alot when studying or give your answers by talking.

Physical - same as Kinesthetic (hands-on approach).

Logical - you like to do and think of things in precise order (ie. this is for people who are good at maths or reading symbols such as music notes or tabs).

Social - you like to work in groups or participate in group activities or social occasions.

Solitary - you like to work or study or be on your own.

Conceptual - you like to think of new ideas and possibly act on them.

Creative - you like the more artistic types of things (such as playing a musical instrument), and you would be the type to dance or write music or draw pictures or paint stuff.

According to the JCU's brain.exe program, I have a perfectly balanced brain (Left side = 50%, Right side = 50%) and pretty well balanced Visual and Auditory (Visual = 46.2%, Auditory = 53.8%).  The program gave me about a page long explanation of these results and what they mean, but I am simply too lazy to type it out, just in case that program isn't accurate enough.

The metamath site showed that I have a Kinesthetic style.  The results were Visual = 30, Verbal = 25, Auditory = 30 and Kinesthetic = 32 (I'm not sure what the scores' ranges were).  These numbers are quite close to each other, therefore proving again that my learning styles are nearly equal or fully maximised.

According to the webster.commnet.edu site, out of a max. score of 7, I got 4 for Visual, 5 for Conceptual, 4 for Verbal, 5 for Social and 4 for Creative.

From this Ldpride site, out of a percentage total of 100%, I scored 37 % for Visual, 32% for Kinesthetic, and 31% for Auditory (they all add up to 100%).

Besides the brain.exe program, I only tried two other free online tests to see which side of my brain is more dominant.  I already know in myself that I am more of a mathematical person than someone who would write as good as Beethoven (Hey Hey doesn't that sound So familiar? Yes, I would be right-sided if I went off my Seroquel - the antipsychotic medication I take - just click here back to my How I Think Page).  Anyway, since I am too much of a goodie-goodie to go off my meds, and the fact that I will most likely go psychotic again if I decided to go off my meds, my brain will stay left-side dominated for now.

The test at brain.web-us.com showed me that I am dominant on the left side (a score of 13(L) to 5(R) for the LHS).

The other dominance test at testcafe.com also showed that I am LHS dominant (a score of 13(L) to 8(R) for the LHS).

After all this testing and all the results shown here on this page, the results have basically reaffirmed as to what type of thinker and learning style I possess.  I know I am already a multitalented individual who is more mathematical in nature than being creative.  However, I would say my hobbies or talents are playing musical instruments, computers and the internet, being good at maths (hey I did three University Level Maths Subjects at Uni during my half-pledged engineering degree and passed all of them!), drawing some pictures every now and then (I believe the drawing gene that all my siblings have has been carried down from my mother who used to paint Snoopy characters on our cupboards and spraypainted bunny rabbitbfootprints just before Easter) >>

, playing and watching and knowing the rules of most sports, talking about my own mental health problems and getting through to people by talking to them and helping them, having a very big and good on-hand general knowledge base for topics such as politics, history, famous people, little facts that most people wouldn't care about, and all other sorts of subjects (I have been called a nerd infront of our entire Grade 8 class (about 300 kids), geek, knowledgeable, smart, clever etc).

Don't worry, I won't get bigheaded over these facts - I have the right kinds of friends to help me be level-headed (most of this credit would go out to 'DFDdartgvasf' - my closest friend and who did about 99% of the work for the new layout of this site - all I did was say yes or no every 10 seconds to decide what I wanted).  I have a very easy going nature, I am very patient, and I believe I work well in teams.  The one thing I guess people would be jealous of is my ability to concentrate like mad!  I can just zone-out whenever I want to and zoom in onto one subject and not stop until I have completed it, become really hungry, become really tired, or can't find ANY solution at all. I have an ability to absord information while sitting in a class extemely well too.  In particular, my IT class is quite fun because I am the student who is always asking the teachers too many questions.

*&^#WHO is Dafsdaas???? Muahahaahha - that's a secret - if you find out, you will be annihilated (no you won't but this person won't be very happy at all!)
